As some of you know, I am addicted to starting niche blogs. I know it’s a problem, but I’m not ready to get help just yet.

One of my favorite, and by far the most popular of these blogs is my Florida Sun Dog blog. While the most popular content is trashy stuff about Jessica Sierra, Debra Lafave, and Jaymee Wallace, I have a series of posts that seems to really be catching on where I compare Florida to other states in a “7 Reasons Florida is Better Than…” format.

Poker Secrets: Tim Tebow

For poker-playing members of Gator Nation, some Tim Tebow Facts:

Tim Tebow’s hand is the only hand that beats a Royal Flush.

Tim Tebow has the greatest Poker-Face of all time. He won the 1983 World Series of Poker, despite holding only a Joker, a Get out of Jail Free slot onlain card, a 2 of clubs, 7 of spades and a green #4 card from the game UNO.

Commodore Online Casino

Wow, here’s a site I haven’t seen before: Commodore Online Casino.

There is a range of games here that I haven’t seen from other online casinos. They will be releasing poker rooms shortly, but the selection of games is so wide that you’ll probably find something to keep you busy. There is the usual games you see online – blackjack, slots, video poker, and that favorite of poker bloggers everywhere, Pai Gow. There are also some lottery games like Keno and Scratch & Win, as well as 3D Horse Racing. I tried Horse Racing with my $2,000 of play money, because US residents can’t play for money at Commodore Casinos right now.

Why horse racing? Because I know nothing about the sport. What better way to begin educating myself about the sport of kings than to go through betting simulations in an online game? That’s the big draw to these casino sites, for me – I get to learn the games at my own pace before I wager anything.

I also got hooked on my leak, Blackjack. I can’t help myself, even though it was a play table, I still enjoyed the action, trying to remember my basic strategy without using a cheat-sheet.

So, check out Commodore Casino, the sponsor of this post, which has the most robust range of Casino Games Online that I’ve ever seen.

A couple college kids robbed a bank to pay their tuition. Since Congress set the precedent last year of outlawing the activity driving the crime, I fully expect to see legislation introduced shortly to outlaw college.

From Sen. Kyl’s website:

I also sponsored legislation to better enforce laws prohibiting Internet gambling, which fosters problems unlike any other forms of gambling. Online players can gamble 24 hours a day from home; children can play without sufficient age verification; and betting with a credit card can undercut a player’s perception of the value of cash – leading to possible addiction and, in turn, to bankruptcy, crime, and suicide. Professor John Kindt of the University of Illinois put it best when he called Internet gambling the “crack cocaine [of gambling]…There are no needle marks. There’s no alcohol on the breath. You click the mouse and lose your house.” (“Online Wagering Under Attack in Congress,” Associated Press, July 10, 2006.)

The Federal Trade Commission has warned that computer-savvy young people are particularly at risk, and the National Collegiate Athletic Association, concerned about the risk to college students, urged a legislative remedy. The negative impact of Internet gambling addictions among young people is well documented. For example, the one-time president of the sophomore class at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania robbed a bank to pay off his Internet gambling debt…

Time for a new study. I’ve already written the headline: “Go to class, lose your cash”

Now to just find the statistics to shape to fit the premise of my study…
